September 2011
So, I'm sitting here blogging, editing pictures, tagging pictures, and itching to start a new project, but how? Most of my art supplies are packed up and ready to move to California in 3 months. 3 months?! What was I thinking packing it up, all of it? Maybe I'll have to find the box and un tape it? Or buy a few little supplies to pack in a satchel for traveling?
I know it sounds ridiculous that I'm packed so soon. But, I'm not completely packed. It takes forever to pack at a couple boxes a day. Still have lots to do.
Getting back to my creating funk, it's like my right hand is cut off and I can't scratch. Kinda like irritating, and makes me irritable. Nothing like paste, paint, brushes, and scissors sparkles and lots of color to calm an artist's mood. Take me home, creative road!
Earlier....
I've been trying faithfully to spruce up my blog, stretch myself and put myself out for all
the other bloggers who post their works of art on their blogs. I want to give others some of the enjoyment back that I get from reading what others are inspired by and what they are doing.
What works for my blog, is to include bits of all my different ART: ATCs, collaged pages, watercolors, clay, altered books, glue books and even some writing. It brings variety and gives the eyes candy. I always have felt insecure with my art, but recently we did a Lenten series called, "LET YOUR LIFE SPEAK," book by Parker J. Palmer.
The conclusion I came to was that my whole life has something to say to others. We speak not only by our words, but by what we do or don't do; by what we create, such as our ARTS and CRAFTS, and by the music we write, or sing, and by everything in our life. Our choices speak loudly to the world about our ideals, limits, strengths and, most of all our beliefs and our faith speaks loud and clear.
It is all important therefore to let our life speak. We each are unique, with something to say to the world. Are we shy, and serious? Or, perhaps, outgoing and loud? Are we often down and depressed, or full of frequent laughter and jokes? Do you paint, glue, roll, write, speak, sing, or something else unique? LET YOUR LIFE SPEAK!
